Enrollment and tour payments

How do parents enroll their students and pay for the tour?

There are four ways to enroll and pay:
  1. Online: Travelers who are not yet enrolled on your tour should go to SmithsonianStudentTravel.com and enter the tour number in the middle section under "enroll in your teacher’s tour." This will bring participants to our online participant application where they can submit an application and use a debit or credit card for payment.
Travelers who are enrolled but need to submit payments online should log in to their Tour Participant Site with their account number and password (defaults to participant’s birth date in mm/dd/yyyy format including slashes). Then they can click “Make a Payment” on their “My account details” page to submit a payment by debit or credit card
  2. Mail: When mailing we recommend that participants give applications to their group leader to be sent in together.
  3. Phone: Participants may apply by phone at 1-888-333-9756.
  4. Fax: 1-800-257-3030.

Is there any sort of financing available to parents?

AutoPay, a convenient and affordable monthly payment plan, is offered to all Smithsonian Student Travel tour participants. We take the balance at the time of enrollment and divide it by the number of months before the final payment is due. A credit card will be charged on the last Wednesday of every month. If adjustments are made to the tour, such as special travel arrangements or optional excursions, we will automatically adjust the monthly payment amount. No surprises, no statements to mail, no hassle. Learn more about AutoPay

How will I know who has paid and who has not?

Log in to your personal Group Leader Site to view your full list of participants and their payment status via your group status report.
