What are the rooming arrangements?
Student rooming is based on three to four students in rooms with two double beds. Adults will be placed two adults per room with two beds, or a double bed, if requested. Both students and adults have the option of paying an additional fee for a single room.
What if there is an emergency on tour?
Our Smithsonian Student Travel Tour Directors are trained to handle any emergency that arises while on tour. They also carry a mobile phone at all times, which keeps them in constant contact with both EF headquarters in Boston, as well as all of EF's local offices across North America. Additionally, we offer a 24-hour emergency service and round-the-clock access to ERIKA insurance specifically for medical emergencies. We also have a nationwide network of offices ready to help no matter where you are.
What is the tour director's role?
Your dedicated tour director is with your group 24 hours a day to confirm reservations, assist you in checking into hotels, show you the best sights and keep you on schedule. Your tour director is also trained to engage students with interactive learning strategies that support your teaching.
