Smithsonian Student Travel awards free trips to deserving students


Three lucky students will travel for free in 2010. As part of Smithsonian Student Travel’s latest incentives program, three teachers from across the United States each received a free-tour voucher to pass along to a student. In addition, Smithsonian Student Travel presented a free iPod touch to five students. Find out how you can take advantage of similar incentives with your next tour.

The world through your lens: Smithsonian magazine’s annual photo contest


Share your worldview by entering Smithsonian magazine’s 7th annual photo contest. Submit your entry in the Natural World, Americana, Altered Images, Travel or People category by December 1, 2009, to be considered for publication in a summer 2010 issue of the magazine. Plus, after February 28, 2010, the magazine will invite all readers to cast their votes for the Reader’s Choice winner.
